How verification works

From a selected event to an interpretable finding.

Five stages connect evidence capture to independent review.

A process alongside your existing systems.

  1. 01Capture selected evidence
  2. 02Protect the record
  3. 03Retain record and trust material
  4. 04Apply approved policy
  5. 05Interpret the findings

The institution defines what matters.

01 / Capture

Select the event, outcome and necessary context. Define expected inputs separately so omissions can be assessed.

02 / Protect

Protect selected information with a signature so later reviewers can check for changes.

03 / Retain

Keep the record, authentic public trust material, applicable policy and available historical evidence. Do not include private signing keys in review packages.

04 / Evaluate

Use a compatible verifier and an independently approved trust basis. A package cannot grant itself authority simply by supplying a key.

05 / Interpret

Read integrity, signature, authority, time and completeness findings separately. Investigate missing or failed checks before reaching a substantive conclusion.
